What is the “POWER of SEWING” to a poverty-ridden woman?
It means that a woman in poverty can learn a life skill, earn a living wage, support her own needs, children’s education, her family income needs, and make a valuable contribution to her community, changing the lives of others living in the clutches of poverty.
A Sewing Machine will intervene as one of the means that empower a woman and help to achieve Sustainable Developmental Goals - SDG 1 (End poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 3 (Good Health & Well-being), SDG 4 (Skill Development), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 8 (Descent Work & Economic Growth) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities). The women can experience a massive transformation in hope, faith, lifestyle, and belief that they can impact their local community for the better.
By gifting a Sewing Machine, you will help a woman from a lower income, single mother, orphaned teen, or widow to make a decent living through sewing skills under our “The POWER of SEWING” project. Women from rural areas are provided with free sewing training under the project, thereby creating livelihood opportunities for the sustainability of their families.
