“V-kids are those children hailing from a rural background who are often denied equal opportunities in their upbringing, study environment, and exposure to the competitive world.”
PARD INDIA works for the rights of deprived children (V-kids)
Eight (8) ways we care to give every right to our V-kids. This holistic approach intrinsically addresses the core aspects of the development of deprived children(V-kids) in rural areas across India through our empowerment initiatives to bring change in their lives.
We support V-kids by providing varied opportunities and education services at ground level in rural areas. From mentoring to creating common platforms for broader involvement of local communities, we help them to enhance their knowledge base and encourage them to continue their education to a higher level as part of empowerment. To achieve the outcome, we have prioritized the following six (6) programs under the Rural Education and Development (READ) Project:

We work to create gender equity among children from childhood through awareness and empowerment initiatives to create conditions where every V-kid can thrive and achieve their full potential. We work with local authorities and communities to reach the most vulnerable children in rural and suburban areas. Our strategy to promote gender equality includes using games, ensuring physical activities, organizing national and international days, skill development, and conducting awareness programs within the community.
We support V-kids who suffer from malnutrition or poor health by providing them with nutritional kits. We also offer financial support to those children undergoing medical treatment. We conduct various free medical health check-up camps and health awareness programs to create awareness of various health and hygiene issues. We have been working on providing Millet nutrition kits to pregnant women caring for the health of mothers and babies
We constantly work to improve and provide access to safe and clean drinking water and reliable sanitation and promote basic hygiene practices in rural areas. We undertake community-based social campaigns to reach V-kids, their families, and their communities in collaboration with the government, CSR or funding partners, and local health authorities to provide WASH facilities in schools and community centers in rural areas.
We facilitate orphans, children with a single parent, neglected children, runaways, or innocent children in rural areas to get admitted into the government and privately run homes to rehabilitate them through care and education. To eliminate and prevent child labor or child trafficking, we work on rescue and rehabilitation through child protection networks under the Juvenile Justice Care & Protection Act. We work on this through partnerships with the government, civil society organizations, CSR or funding agencies, and committed individuals and volunteers.
PARD INDIA team reaches the ground immediately to deliver humanitarian aid to V-kids and their families in times of emergency and disaster. We assess the extent of damage and mobilize emergency relief from within and the nearby communities, neighboring villages, government agencies, and social organizations to support the affected V-kids and their communities.
Through our inclusive approach, we work towards bringing the voices of the people to policymakers and society, changing attitudes about disability, and improving the lives of specially abled children at the grassroots. PARD INDIA ensures that children living with disabilities overcome barriers to education, their opinions are considered, their voices heard, and they are given just and fair opportunities in society.
We prioritize reducing poverty and giving all V-kids an equal chance to live. We address their issues by raising their voice to have in place policies and programs to protect their rights. We help to expand social protection systems to support the well-being of all V-kids, especially those who are at risk of discrimination and exclusion. We work with policymakers, government bodies, gram panchayats, and juvenile homes to promote children’s rights.
We focus primarily on empowering disadvantaged children to become future global leaders. At the same time, we address their families and communities to bring holistic development and lasting change to V-kids.
